I have been with BUSD district since 2002. I have worked in Southwest Human Development in Phoenix, Arizona. I have also worked with children in Head Start, and as an Instructor of Communications Disorders at West Texas A&M University, Canyon, Texas. I have a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands.
I have previously served as BTA Secretary for 2 years, BTA President for 3 years, and am currently 2nd Vice President.
I absolutely love the connections I make through Union work. I get to meet some interesting and fabulous people and have opportunity to work side by side with them. I am interested in helping people find their voice, stand up for themselves and promote our profession so teachers are the ones who have a say in how and what we teach our students.
In addition to serving as BTA’s 2nd Vice President, Trina also chairs the Human Rights, Membership and Woman’s Rights Committees.

I am so honored and excited to be the Beaumont Teachers Association Secretary. This year will be my 6th year teaching and this is my second career. I was in the medical field for 10 years and decided to follow my dream and become a teacher. My teaching career has consisted of teaching in kindergarten or first grade and I am currently teaching first grade at Anna M. Hause. This fall, I will begin my National Board Certification portfolio and should have it completed by the Spring. Being a teacher is not my only job. I am a wife to a handsome and supportive man and am the mother of two wonderful children, a daughter age 6 and a son age 3. We have lived in Beaumont for 8 years and moved here to start a family and raise our children in a small town that still had a sense of community.
